CORNELIUS PRATHER DELK

Guitar and Vocals

Cornelius Prather Delk was born on a farm on Rough Ridge in Southern Kentucky. His earliest musical memory is was sitting on the back of a flat bed truck with his two sister singing Rollin' on the River. Growing up in Southern Kentucky, music was the one thing Cornelius had that was free.

When he was young, Cornelius started playing piano and singing music in church. By junior high, he was singing in choir in church and school. He found playing trumpet and trombone in jazz band - the root of the blues - to be his calling. 

​

After discovering Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, ZZ Top and Led Zepplin, Cornelius started fronting bands as lead singer and guitarist and has never looked back. ​

​

Since 1982, Cornelius has played in many blues and rock n' roll bands as front man and side man for various groups. He has spent the last decade with the bands Jet Black Blues and The Wolf Brothers.

​

 Blues Man Cornelius Prather Delk looks forward to blowing the roof off the joint every time Jet Black Blues hits the stage. Cornelius and the band are very excited about their new record Fool Around Fever, with its blend of Texas and Chicago Blues styles to take you on a wild ride and musical journey through the blues and into your soul.

MARK VARRASSO

Bass and Vocals

Mark Varrasso is an accomplished bassist and vocalist and has been playing music with Jet Black Blues for over a decade.

 

Mark comes from a musical family and started playing a 1958 Fender P-Bass in 1968 with Central Ohio Rock bands.

 

Mark's virtuoso Bass playing & vocals makes him a real stand out on stage and in the studio with Jet Black Blues

 

Mark's go-to bass is a 1977 Fender Jazz Bass that he bought new and has been his faithful companion ever since.

 

Mark has been a successful business owner for many years in Ohio. With many years of stage and studio experience, Mark Is the best of the best for bass and vocals when he's laying it down with Jet Black Blues.

PAUL NICHOLS

Drums

Hot Rod racer and Hot Rod drummer Paul Nichols has been playing honky tonks, roadhouses, and festivals for over 30 years - honing his skills as a Blues-Rock and Jam Band Drummer.

​

Paul is always in the pocket and brings the music to a big bold spooky mojo high of Blues-Rock Valhalla.

 

When Paul is not drumming, he is a drag strip race car Driver, racing his personal Old School Gasser Hot Rods nationwide.

 

With years of stage & studio experience Paul sounds killer with his tasty & power house drumming on the new Jet Black Blues Album Fool Around Fever.
